Detonate replace IGL who left after two weeks
Ahead of the start of ESL Challenger League Season 42 today, Detonate completed their roster with the addition of former Axolotls player Connor "jermanji" Buckles on August 19th. He joins Detonate as a replacement for Paul "aris" Wilson, who left the team after less than two weeks with the squad.
The addition of jermanji comes as a surprise as Detonate had been experimenting with Brazen's former IGL, Austin "mesamiduck" Dardar, in the first IEM Rio Major American RMR open qualifier. However, the team seemingly elected to go a different direction after one event, reuniting jermanji with former Axolotls teammate Landon "landmaz" Lawrence.
With their new-look lineup, Detonate will aim to make a splash in ECL after being "gifted" a spot due to the unusually tumultuous off-season. Despite not making it through to ECL on the first pass, the team is still well experienced, with each player having multiple season of ECL/Premier experience.
Detonate are now:
-
Johnny "JDubs" Wu
-
Landon "landmaz" Lawrence
-
Sam "Noxio" Goodwin
-
Kyle "Wolffe" Greenfield
-
Connor "jermanji" Buckles
-
Luke "Viathan" Carstens (Coach)
The team currently have no matches scheduled in ECL S42, although their first match would presumably be against Victorum should the two squads agree to play on the default date.
