Complexity secure top seed from IEM Road to Rio NA Open Qualifier #1
With both Gaimin Gladiators and Complexity having qualified for the Major, there was not much else to play for other than seeding priority in this final best-of-one matchup. With Gaimin removing Dust2 and Overpass, Complexity declined to play Mirage, Ancient, and Vertigo, forcing their more semi-pro opponents to decide between Nuke and Inferno. Eventually, Danny "cxzi" Strzelczyk decided to pursue Inferno to give himself the best chance in the game.
It initially appeared that Gaimin made the right decision to pursue Inferno as they jumped out to a quick 6-1 lead, before letting it slip to a 7-3 advantage, and eventually allowed Complexity to take the lead with a 8-7 half. With Gaimin now moving onto their CT-side, it looked like they might be able to recover, but it was all for naught as Complexity won their T-side pistol giving them the next three rounds.
Once Gaimin were able to secure their first full buy, the tempo of the game changed immediately. Complexity was unable to win their next two consecutive rounds, forcing them onto an eco where Gaimin were caught napping. The squad were unable to recover after losing such a crucial round and Complexity breezed through to the finish with a 16-9 victory. The mentality of the Gaimin team was clear to see as Jeorge "jeorgesnorts" Endicott bought a Negev in the final round and was unable to do much of anything with it.
