Announcing the Dust2.us tournament ban policy
With the announcement of the first Dust2.us Masters, we would like to preemptively outline our position and policies regarding cheating and other untoward behavior in Dust2.us run events.
This policy has been modeled after and influenced by both the existing Dust2.dk policy and guidelines set forth by the Esports Integrity Coalition (ESIC).
1. General
1.1. Cheating and matchfixing, or otherwise attempting to influence the outcome of matches, is prohibited.
1.2. Admin/staff decisions are final
1.3. Attempts at ban evasion via alternate accounts or some other method will result in lifetime bans.
1.3.1. Participating in a Dust2.us event with an active ban is grounds for a permanent ban from all future Dust2.us events.
1.3.2. It is a player's own responsibility to know if they have been banned on a platform outlined in section 2.2, and to be familiar with these rules and the corresponding consequences.
2. Existing bans
2.1. A player with a VAC ban that is less than two years old is ineligible to participate in Dust2.us events.
2.1.1. Conversely, a player with a VAC ban that is more than two years old (730 days), may participate.
2.1.2. If a VAC ban is rescinded (by Valve), said player will be able to participate with immediate effect.
2.2. Players with active cheating bans on FACEIT, CEVO, ESEA, and ESL are ineligible to participate in Dust2.us events.
2.2.1. This list of platform providers is not meant to be exhaustive, and can be expanded at our discretion.
3. Dust2.us bans
3.1. During the course of a Dust2.us event, a player and their team may be expelled with immediate effect, at our sole discretion.
3.1.1. Pending a follow-up investigation, this disqualification may also result in a two year ban.
4. Repeat offenses
4.1. Repeat offenses will incur harsher punishments, including the possibility of lifetime bans.
Our ultimate goal is to not throw around indefinite bans for initial offenses, except in extreme circumstances. We hope to provide a platform for upcoming teams to get some exposure, and play against better opponents. Again, these guidelines may be adjusted at any time — especially if we feel our kindness is being taken advantage of.
Happy fragging!
