peacemaker's tenure with Imperial saw the team briefly peak at 14th in the world

Imperial to make second reported change

The storied coach is reportedly the first casualty of Imperial's post-Major rut.

Per a report by Rafael Ferreira of BLIX.gg, Imperial are set to relieve Luis "peacemaker" Tadeu of coaching duties after a period of disappointing results for the "Last Dance" squad. As pointed out in the report, peacemaker's ouster from the squad appears to be the later stages as peacemaker recently removed his role with the team from his Twitter bio.

peacemaker's reported removal from Imperial follows an extreme downturn in results for Gabriel "FalleN" Toldeo's squad post-Major. Since their exciting run in Antwerp, the Brazilians have bombed out of IEM Dallas, Pinnacle Cup, and IEM Cologne in short succession with little to show for their attendance at the events. Their sole wins during this time were against Swedish-Israeli squad Finest and the Australians of ORDER, two squads comfortably outside the upper echelons of world Counter-Strike. While BLIX.gg's reporting did not suggest a motivating factor for peacemaker's removal, it is likely driven by a desire to turn the ship around, especially with the all-important IEM Rio Major qualifiers coming up post-player break.

To that end, Draft5 also reported that Lincoln "fnx" Lau is likely to exit the squad while Dust2 Brasil reported Imperial are targeting MIBR's Marcelo "chelo" Cespedes as his replacement. fnx's long-term prospects in Imperial was always a question, as the 32-year-old player's individual performances have left a lot on a table in the twilight of his lengthy and prestigious career.

With peacemaker out of the team, Imperial would be:

  • Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo

  • Fernando “fer” Alvarenga

  • Lincoln “fnx” Lau

  • Ricardo “boltz” Prass

  • Vinicus “VINI” Figueiredo

Imperial's hunt for a new coach to helm the project will be an interesting endeavor as the majority of the most desirable top-tier Brazilian coaches are already locked down on teams or are ineligible to compete in Valve-sponsored events.
