SoaR take down FRENCH CANADIANS in CEVO Main Lower Bracket
Inferno started off well for SoaR as Michael "Grim" Wince took four kills, securing the T side pistol for his team. The ensuing anti-eco also went SoaR's way without much issue as the Frenchies conceded the round to save their pistols. These saved pistols gave the Canadians two opening frags in the following round, but four more frags from grim ensured the round went the way of SoaR in the end. The first gun round also went SoaR's way, but two CZ kills from Keven "PLAYER1" Champagne combined with two frags from Yassine "Subroza" Taoufik in their save round put their side on the board. SoaR immediately answered back with a round of their own, but a saved AWP from Anthony "gMd" Guimond took two opening frags for his side and gave them their second round.
Jack "xCeeD" Holiman found two opening CZ frags in apartments for SoaR as the team pushed halls, immediately resetting the FRENCH CANADIANS once again. From here SoaR took another two rounds for themselves, with the Canadians replying by securing three of their own. The final two rounds of the half went to SoaR, thanks in part to Matthew "mCe" Elmore picking up a quad kill.
The second pistol round of the series also went SoaR's way, putting them in a solid spot to take the map; however, a bomb plant from the Frenchies gave them the opportunity to buy in the third round. A team ace from the Canadians gave them their first gun round, and put SoaR's economy in jeopardy. Despite SoaR double-saving, their second save round saw xCeeD pick up three frags for himself to shut the Frenchies down before they could catch up. SoaR moved up to 14 rounds with ease until Subroza and co. fought back for two rounds of their own, but the map was too far out of their hands and SoaR closed it out in the next two rounds.
The Frenchies took their first pistol round of the series on Nuke, aided by Subroza opening up the site with four frags; however, they weren't able to capitalize on their economic advantage in the following round as SoaR found the first three frags, allowing them to answer back immediately. This led to three more rounds going the way of SoaR, although the Frenchies did get two bomb plants to keep their economy bolstered. The Canadians finally grabbed a round for themselves, but once again were reset as SoaR secured the ensuing round. Despite their economy being in the dumps, the FRENCH CANADIANS took the next two rounds — surviving with only a single player alive in both. This gave SoaR a massive advantage when they got their own economy in check, and from here they threw the Canadians' economy into shambles with a round win of their own. The Frenchies were only able to pick up one more round in the half, leading to a 10-5 scoreline at the half once again.
Much like on Inferno, SoaR had no intention of giving the Frenchies a way back into the map. A quick pistol victory allowed the team to take the following two rounds with little contest, and from here SoaR cruised to a victory on the Frenchies pick to close out the series 2-0.
The previous Lower Bracket match saw LFAO forfeit to Good People, which means we'll see Roy "StrongLegs" Ahad's squad take on SoaR tomorrow for a slot in the Lower Bracket Finals.
