OCEAN and co. finally receive payment from AGG
Kyle "OCEAN" O'Brien has revealed that his contract dispute with Team AGG and parent company Digitally Adaptive has been resolved, bringing an end to an issue which began way back in March of last year. OCEAN also clarified that the other players from his former team were also included in the deal. When contacted, OCEAN would not comment on the nature of how the dispute was ultimately resolved.
Team AGG ventured into CS:GO in February 2017 with the signing of the squad known as SapphireKelownaDotCom, which at the team featured OCEAN, Ellis "els" Clay, David "inVert" Munroe, Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken and Steven "rooRoooo" Herrell. During their short stay under the banner, the squad's best result was making the closed qualifier for DreamHack Masters Malmö, where they finished 5/8th.
Then, in mid-March, AGG surprisingly signed the Polish side that had recently departed Vexed Gaming. At the time, then-owner of Selfless Gaming, and currently CLG coach Steve "Ryu" Rattacasa immediately cried foul:
As of January 2017, the players still had not been paid. Then again in September, the issue boiled up again due to the CEO of AGG, Brandon Spearman, being linked to a PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS tournament website. At that time it was revealed that between the North American and Polish rosters, approximately $30,000 was owed to players.
Dust2.us has reached out to members of the Polish team to ascertain if they have been paid what they are owed, but at least for now it seems that the North American players have finally gotten what they were entitled to. That Polish side disbanded in September 2016, and it's former members now represent organizations such as AGO and Izako Boars.
