zander reforms Rugratz
Alexander "zander" Diaz has revived Rugratz to compete in ESEA Advanced Season 40 after a year-long hiatus away from CS:GO. This new squad, unlike many previous Rugratz iterations, sees zander as the sole member with any ECL/Premier experience, instead featuring less experienced players that zander hopes to lead to Advanced playoffs.
While he has been out of action for some time, zander will be a familiar name to long-time fans of North American CS:GO for his role in helping to develop a number of former and current star players early in their careers. Most notably, zander won ESEA Advanced Season 30 under Zone with then lesser-known players Michael "Swisher" Schmid and Nathan "leaf" Orf when they were 20 years old and 15 years old, respectively.
The core of this lineup is based around Harris “cheetah” K., Mason “cam-“ D., and Justin “just” C., who played together in ESEA Main Season 38 as Life Game. During that season, the trio made top eight in playoffs before being eliminated by The Black Bulls. Unfortunately they were less successful in ESEA Advanced Season 39, barely holding onto their spot after a 6-8 regular season.
The final piece of this new Rugratz roster is Frank "Laxufy" Zeolla. Laxufy is the second-most experienced member of the lineup behind zander, having made Advanced playoffs during Seasons 30 and 33 with Legacy and Serac, respectively. Laxufy was brought in to replace Leo "Laboom" in the pre-season due to the player leaving the roster in frustration on January 17th before trying to come back a few days later.
The reformed Rugratz roster consists of:
-
Alexander "zander" Diaz
-
Harris "cheetah" K.
-
Mason "cam-" D.
-
Justin "just" C.
-
Frank "Laxufy" Zeolla
Rugratz currently boast a 1-1 record following a win over The Forest and a loss to Unjustified. Their next match will be against GameSense on February 7th at 9PM EST.
