koi links up with Davenport University
Davenport University have brought on Colin "koi" Thor as head coach of their roster ahead of ESEA Advanced Season 40. With koi at the helm, the squad hope to realize the team’s dream of being the first varsity roster to reach ESL Challenger League.
koi joins the squad on the back of a brief stint across the pond as an assistant coach and analyst with German organization MOUZ. There, he notably helped the European mix to a 12th-14th place finish at PGL Major Stockholm alongside a 5th-6th showing at DreamHack Open November 2021.
The new head coach is also no stranger to collegiate CS:GO with the twenty-year-old having played for Michigan Tech Huskies as well as being coach for Western Michigan's varsity roster. He also plied his trade by taking up an assistant coach/analyst position for Warriors International during ESEA MDL Season 34.
With the addition of koi, Davenport University are now:
-
Spencer "Pugg" Moore
-
Collin "CoJoMo" Moren
-
Brandon "BeBO" Miller
-
Joseph "slomotion" Derby
-
Bret "Agent" Kepler (Substitute)
-
Colin "koi" Thor (Coach)
The Davenport University core recently participated in the Liquid x IMC College Clash event under the Michigan Mittens banner where they lifted the trophy after a close 2-1 victory over IniquityUniversity in the grand final. The Panthers are also set to participate in ESEA Advanced Season 40 which is slated to begin on January 31st.
