ryx released by Ghost
Ghost Gaming have announced the release of Ronnie "ryx" Bylicki via Twitter:
The move comes on the heels of Ghost being automatically demoted from ESL Pro League, by virtue of their last place standing after the regular season. Ghost currently sit at the bottom of the ECS table as well, and with only two matches remaining for them to play there, are likely looking at the prospect of playing relegation matches in that league.
When asked for comment, ryx said the following:
I want to thank Ghost for taking care of me in my short time with the team. Going into this I knew things wouldn't be easy, but I'll never shy away from a challenge. Failure is part of growing and becoming a better person/player. Good luck to them.
Ghost Gaming's roster is now:
- Sebastian "seb" Bucki
- Connor "CONNOR93" Glover
- Matthew "Wardell" Bowman
- Phong "bee" Nguyen
Ghost have already been seen using Rogue's Collin "wrath" McSweegan in lieu of ryx in yesterday's ECS matches against OpTic, which were both losses for the North Americans. Dust2.us knows that the team had previously tried to recruit wrath after the ESEA MDL Season 24 Global Challenge, so it is likely that they would look to make his addition permanent.
The move could have undesirable implications for Rogue, who due to the ESL Pro League end-of-season roster lock would be unable to add a new player for their relegation match that determines if they will remain in the league next season. A loss in that match would send Spencer "Hiko" Martin's team down to ESEA MDL Season 27, where the new Ghost roster will also be toiling.
