Cloud9 and MIBR finish middle of the pack in Lisbon
The round-robin group stage of BLAST Pro Series Lisbon has concluded, and neither team featuring North American representation has made it to the grand final, currently being played between Astralis and Natus Vincere.
Cloud9, with Ismail "refrezh" Ali in tow in place of Maikil "Golden" Selim, managed to finish in third place with wins over MIBR, FaZe, and NiP, and losses to the two eventual grand finalists.
MIBR, using Braxton "swag" Pierce for Fernando "fer" Alvarenga, finished just behind their counterparts in fourth place, with wins over NiP and Natus Vincere, a tie against FaZe, and losses to Cloud9 and Astralis.
As the third place team, Cloud9 had the privilege of participating in the BLAST Pro Stand-off, and they selected FaZe as their opponents. Though the stand-off was close, the European squad narrowly got the better of the boys in blue, with only refrezh and Timothy "autimatic" Ta winning their duels.
Both teams end 2018 in an uncertain state, with Cloud9 mulling bringing in former member Kory "SEMPHIS" Friesen as a coach, and MIBR reportedly looking to return to a fully Brazilian roster.
