Luminosity forced to field zakk in Americas Minor closed qualifier
Luminosity were forced to field their coach Rafael "zakk" Fernandes in place of their AWPer Henrique "HEN1" Teles as they failed to add the player to their roster for the Americas Minor closed qualifier in time, Lucas "steel" Lopes revealed in a tweet this evening.
With zakk, Luminosity were unable to overcome FURIA in their opening round of 16 matchup, falling 2-0 on Cache and Overpass. It is unknown whether the team will be allowed to field HEN1 in their lower bracket match against Bravado tomorrow, with the IEM Katowice handbook citing a need for "a period without matches of at least 24 hours."
Between the end of Luminosity's match today and the start of their match tomorrow, approximately 21 hours would have passed, although if one is to count from the start of both series, exactly 24 hours seperates the matches.
For now, Luminosity's roster for the Americas Minor closed qualifier appears to be:
- Gabriel "NEKIZ" Schenato
- Lucas "steel" Lopes
- Lucas "LUCAS1" Teles
- Ricardo "boltz" Prass
- Rafael "zakk" Fernandes
Luminosity will face off against Bravado in the first round of the lower bracket tomorrow, with their match set to kick off at 5 PM EST.
