Strings parts ways with Infamous
Blake "Strings" Stringer is no longer a part of Infamous, the player revealed on Twitter late Monday night following the team's elimination from the final IEM Katowice open qualifier by Hysteria in the Round of 16.
Strings has been a part of Infamous since he linked up with Josh "JoshRT" Lee on Prospects in MDL Season 28. The team most recently picked up Tyler "tweiss" Weiss to replace Nassir "rugrat" Francique, but also tried out Ali "optimus" Mashhour and Kevin "4pack" Przypasniak during the previous IEM Katowice qualifier.
With tweiss unable to play the final qualifier, Infamous were forced to field another substitute in the form of Shawn "Magowi" O'Malley, making this the third qualifier that the team competed in with a fluctuating roster. Infamous played in all four of the open qualifiers, suffering upset losses in the Round of 16 in three instances and only making it to the quarterfinals once, where they fell to Vision.
Strings is now on the hunt for another team going into the upcoming MDL season. With plenty of time to search, the player has already created a recruitment ad on ESEA.
With the departure of Strings, Infamous' roster now looks as follows:
- Josh "JoshRT" Lee
- Mike "real_bM" Desanto
- Brendan "bwills" Williams
- Tyler "tweiss" Weiss
Infamous ended their MDL Season 29 crusade in 12th place, ending their run with an 8-11 record. They currently have no matches lined up, and will search for a new player to replace Strings as they have no events left to compete in at the moment.
