Renegades to Toyota Master semifinals, oNe eliminated in groups
After two days of Toyota Master Bangkok, Renegades have moved on to the semifinals, advancing past the group stage with a 2-1-1 record, and defeating 5POWER in the round of six. They will face Heroic in the semifinal to decide the first finalist team.
The Brazilian oNe did not manage to have the same luck, as after 0-2 losses to TYLOO and Renegades and ties versus AGO and Alpha Red, they found themselves eliminated in last place.
Only one playoff match has taken place however, due to TYLOO vs pro100 being delayed due to Ke "captainMo" Liu having an injury. The veto for the other round of six match went to Mirage, Dust 2, and Inferno between the Oceanic and Asian teams.
Renegades kicked off the series strongly, racking up 11 rounds on the Terrorist side of Mirage. 5POWER didn't get much of a chance to come back though, as a 5-1 CT half for the Australians led to a 5-16 loss. Joakim "jkaem" Myrbostad was the man of the map, putting up 25 frags and 103 ADR over the 21 rounds.
Dust 2 was much more hotly contested, with the first half being very back and forth, no team winning more than three rounds in a row. Despite being down 6-9, 5POWER put up a strong T side, taking 6 rounds in a row and making a 12-9 scoreline. Sean "Gratisfaction" Kaiwai helped Renegades to make their comeback with 22 AWP kills over the map and the highest ADR on the server. 5POWER made a last ditch effort to secure overtime, but it wasn't enough, and Renegades took Dust 2 16-14.
The winner of Renegades and Heroic's semifinal will face the winner of the other semifinal, which will contain AGO and either TYLOO or pro100, depending on who wins the other round of six match tonight.
