ImAPet to miss remainder of IEM Chicago
After narrowly avoiding elimination against MVP PK, Chet "ImAPet" Singh announced over Twitter that he will be leaving Chicago early due to personal family issues.
NRG opened IEM Chicago with a loss to North, despite a promising first half against the rejuvinated Danish team. Knocked down to the lower bracket, NRG edged past MVP PK in a 2-1 series, eliminating the South Korean team. Now in the second round of the lower bracket, they will take on either FaZe or MIBR tomorrow.
ImAPet has been instrumental to NRG's recent rise in performance, with the team going on a miracle run at StarSeries i-League Season 5, which was also ImAPet's first event with the team. With the American coach, NRG have gone on to win IEM Shanghai and cs_summit 3, as well as quarterfinal finishes at ESL One New York and ECS Season 5.
It is unknown whether NRG will continue competing in Chicago without a coach going forward, or if they will fall back to using their general manager Derrick "Impulsive" Truong, similar to how Liquid has used their manager Steve "jokasteve" Perino in the past.
The team will return to using ImAPet at the ECS Season 6 Finals in Dallas, which they clinched a spot for last week.
