Mythic win the Jack Ryan Invitational
The $25,000 Jack Ryan Invitational has concluded, with Mythic taking first place and the entire prize pool. It was a slightly modified version of their lineup though, as Tucker "JERICHO" Boner and Alexander "LeX" Deily played in place of Adam "Polen" Polen and Todd "anger" Williams.
The format of the event was a single elimination bracket, with best of ones until the final, which was a best of three. However, for each map Max Rounds 9 was used and each team began with $16,000. This is opposed to the normal format of Max Rounds 15 and $800 starting money.
The final was between Mythic (United States 1) and Germany 2, headed by Kevin "Tweeday" Tweedale. Both maps were smashing victories for the American side (10-2 Cache, 10-1 Inferno). On Cache it was James "hazed" Cobb who racked up 18 kills in their 10-2 victory. On Inferno, it was Battalion 1944 player LeX who stepped up for Mythic and secured 11 frags in the map win.
There was no prize distribution as all of the winnings went to the victors, meaning Mythic as a whole are $25K richer.
