Kinguin and Imperial invited to DreamHack Montreal
DreamHack has announced that Kinguin and Imperial have accepted their invites to DreamHack Montreal. As with the rest of the teams at the event, both teams were unable to qualify for the FACEIT Major, with Kinguin falling at the Minor itself and Imperial choosing to forgo the last Minor qualifier for DreamHack Summer, which they won.
Kinguin have been slowly climbing up the rankings, placing first at the ZOTAC Cup Europe Regional Finals and going 3-0 in the Minor closed qualifier, before ultimately going out in last at the Minor itself. DreamHack Montreal 2018 will be their first DreamHack event in nearly a year, with the team's last DreamHack event being last year's Montreal iteration.
Imperial have been experiencing some roster instability in the past month, but are still one of the strongest underdogs, taking down teams such as OpTic and Space Soldiers in recent qualifiers. DreamHack Montreal will be the team's first offline event with their new additions of Ali "hAdji" Haïnouss and Eimantas "pounh" Lazickas.
The team list for DreamHack Montreal is currently:
AGO | ENCE |
Heroic | Luminosity |
Red Reserve | Kinguin |
Imperial | Invite |
DreamHack Montreal is play out from September 7th to the 9th, colliding with the New Challengers Stage of the FACEIT Major. With no qualifier spots up for grabs, the last invite will likely be announced by DreamHack in the coming days. As the event is being played in North America, NRG stands out as the most anticipated candidate for the last invite.
