STYKO reportedly set to remain with Cloud9 through September
After Makil "Golden" Selim had his place on Cloud9 confirmed yesterday, speculation was then placed on what was set to happen to Martin "STYKO" Styk's place on the team. According to a report from VPEsports, the Slovak player will remain with the team until after the BLAST Pro Series in Istanbul.
STYKO has been standing in for Cloud9 since ESL One Cologne in July, before remaining with the team in that role for ELEAGUE Premier 2018, being joined by Golden for that event. Cloud9's performances did not make for good viewing, with the team finishing 9th-12th and 7th-8th in the respective events.
With the Major roster deadline for Cloud9 having passed on August 5th, a formal announcement would be expected sooner rather than later, and any potential changes would had have to been pulled through at the eleventh hour. As per the report from VPEsports, the future of STYKO, and the Cloud9 roster, is set to be fully evaluated at the end of the Major in London.
This move would leave Cloud9's roster as follows:
- Timothy "autimatic" Ta
- Will "RUSH" Wierzba
- Tyler "Skadoodle" Latham
- Maikil "Golden" Selim
- Martin "STYKO" Styk (stand-in)
- Soham "valens" Chowdhury (Coach)
