FURIA qualify for Americas Minor
FURIA have topped the second South American qualifier for the FACEIT London 2018 Americas Minor, defeating YeaH! in the final 2-1 (13-16 Train, 16-4 Inferno, 16-10 Mirage). They are the second team to secure their spot at the event in London after Não Tem Como won the first qualifier.
The first half of Train was hotly contested, with rounds going back and forth for either side. YeaH! came out in the lead at the side switch though, with nine rounds on their Terrorist side. Star player Alexandre "xand" Zizi stepped up during the game to allow YeaH! a strong CT side and they closed out map one 16-13.
Inferno was a completely different beast however, and FURIA dominated the first half, going up 12-0 on the Counter-Terrorist side. With veteran Guilherme "spacca" Spacca at the head, FURIA easily closed out the second map 16-4 and tied the series.
The final map again swayed in FURIA's favor, and spacca's men racked up an 11-4 lead on their first side. With 18 year old Yuri "yuurih" Santos at the helm, FURIA managed to grind out the Counter-Terrorist side and close out Mirage 16-10 and the series 2-1.
The first open qualifier for North America is set to take place June 2nd. It will award two spots in the North America closed qualifier which in turn will award six spots at the Minor itself.
