FACEIT announce Minor details; all events to be held under one roof
FACEIT have announced the dates and location for the upcoming Americas Minor that will send teams to the FACEIT Major 2018.
The Americas Minor, featuring teams from both North and South America, will be held from July 7-11, at Twickenham Stadium, a rugby stadium which is also used for concerts.
FACEIT are changing up the way that Minors have been run previously, this time opting to run all of the Minors and Major in the same venue. The tournament organizer are hopeful that having complete control of the process and doing everything in one place will reduce the likelihood of teams facing visa issues.
According to Michele Attisani, co-founder and Chief Business Officer of FACEIT:
By hosting each stage of the tournament at Twickenham Stadium we’re hoping to bring new life to the Minors. The Major should be a celebration of all things CS:GO, we want to bring teams together for the first time and make sure teams of all levels feel welcome and feel the Major experience.
While FACEIT have revealed the invited teams to the Closed Qualifiers for CIS and two invited teams to the Asia Minor (TyLoo and Renegades), no such announcement has been made for the Americas as of this time.
The first South American Minor qualifier will be held on May 19th, whereas the first North American Minor qualifier will commence on June 2nd. As always, you can find information on qualifiers and sign up links on our Calendar page.
Tickets for the Major itself in September are available for purchase here.
