Dust2 set for ESL Pro League Finals appearance
The newly updated map Dust2 is set to be in action at both IEM Sydney, from May 1st-6th, and the ESL Pro League Season 7 Finals in Dallas, from May 14th-20th.
Dust2 was recently added as a replacement for Cobblestone, as Valve's long-awaited rotation of maps in the "Active Duty" pool finally took place, albeit during DreamHack Masters Marseille. Whilst that tournament, quite sensibly, avoided the switch, IEM Sydney in just a few days is set to bring the new map into active service almost immedately.
The decision has created some controversey, with Fnatic's star Robin "flusha" Rönnquist and Na`Vi tactician Daniil "Zeus" Teslenko both tweeting their reactions to the news in gif form. Jesper "JW" Wecksell later explained his thoughts on the matter, effectively clarifying there was a vote on exchanging the maps.
Ten of the teams who were in action at DreamHack Masters Marseille last weekend are set to be in action in Sydney, including; Cloud9, SK, Renegades and Astralis, as well as the previously mentioned Fnatic and Na`Vi, meaning the potential practice time those teams are set to have before the event kicks off on Monday will be limited.
Although the LAN Finals for the ESL Pro League will include Dust2, the online portion, which is set to conclude this week for North America, is currently not set to do so.
