Bravado ride on Sonic's coattails to win ESEA Main Season 27
After securing promotion to Season 28 of ESEA's MDL a mere four days ago, Bravado and Fam143 faced off in a best-of-three to determine who would take home $3,000 and have the bragging rights of winning ESEA Main. The loser would see themselves grab $2,000, forever haunted by the thought of having lost in the online grand finals of Season 27.
Although the series saw 58 rounds of play, Bravado secured themselves the win in two maps by taking Fam143's pick of Mirage 16-12, and their own map pick of Inferno with a little more difficulty with a scoreline of 16-14.
Both maps saw the team's AWPer Aran "Sonic" Groesbeek lead the way, powering through Fam143 on Mirage to end the map 34-16 while boasting 116 ADR. His contributions continued on Inferno as he put an additional 28 kills on the board, although here he was joined by in-game leader Dimitri "Detrony" Hadjipaschali who found 28 frags of his own.
Fam143 and Bravado will join the list of MDL squads who are set to compete in the next MDL season, which will kick off shortly after Season 27's Global Challenge LAN in May. They'll join the likes of ex-Iceberg, Armada, and Gorilla Gang as they seek to make their way to EPL and prove themselves even further after their move to North America.
