ESEA revamps Rank S with Money Matches
Since the re-introduction of the North American FACEIT Pro League, ESEA has since seen a heavy decline in activity in Rank S. The company has now fired back with a new system they've dubbed, Rank S Money Matches.
This new iteration of Rank S is an ode to the once popular "money 10-mans", in which players would throw their money in a pot and the winning team would distribute it amongst it's players.
Players will begin with a $0 balance on their account, which they cannot go lower than, with each win netting them $20 and +6 points, while losses will deduct $5 and -4 points. Account balances will rollover each month until a minimum earnings of $100 or more have been accrued, at which point players can either withdrawl their funds or keep it stashed away.
In addition to the individual earnings, ESEA is putting up an additional $5,000 on offer for the top four placings each month in Rank S. While this may seem like a heavy dip in prize money for Rank S standings, as the former system had $5,200 on offer each week, ESEA assures it's patrons that with statistical data they have fielded from past months, the individual earnings will contribute to a 30% or higher payout for users. Even more tantalizing, is that there is no cap to what individuals can earn.
ESEA stated that these changes were made to add more flexibility for Rank S players whose commitments outside of the game held them back from earning a piece of the prize money each week.
