Rank G sees changes as MDL players gain permanent slot
All players in the North American division of ESEA's MDL have been granted permanent slots in Rank G, ESEA's Brett "Few" Sheffield announced on Twitter.
This change will hopefully improve the level of play in Rank G while granting semi-pros the opportunity to move up into Rank S. Players in the MDL who have already qualified for Rank S will also be granted a permanent slot should they be moved down. Players who see themselves in violation of the Rank G conduct policies will not keep their assured slots.
The changes to Rank G follows after the creation of the North American Circuit on FACEIT, which was created by a mixture of current and former MDL players to practice among themselves as some players weren't able to play in Rank G matches. With the ability to now play with their teammates and peers, Rank G should see an increase in player participation as newcomers look to make it into Rank S.
Another welcome change requires ten matches to be played per month to remain in Rank G for those who aren't in the MDL. This ensures that the field of players remains ever changing, allowing for new talent to blossom as they work their way up the ranks. The full update can be found on ESEA's website.
