BLAST unveils BLAST Rising open qualifier system
Today, tournament organizer BLAST announced their BLAST Rising qualifier system that will give four global teams the opportunity to reach the BLAST Open circuit.
One team from each region (Europe, Asia, North America, and South America) will advance through online BLAST Rising play to reach the bigger offline events at BLAST Open. Those four teams will join the top twelve teams from Valve Regional Standings on stage in BLAST Open.
The top four teams according to the VRS for each region (excluding the teams already invited to BLAST Open) will receive a direct invite to the BLAST Rising Finals. The BLAST Rising closed qualifier will consist of the next twelve teams on the rankings, plus four teams from open qualifiers. The closed qualifier will feature four groups playing double-elimination GSL style.
The BLAST Rising Finals will be an eight-team, single-elimination tournament that will produce one winner per region that moves on to BLAST Open.
