nitr0 departs M80 organization amid NRG interest
M80 announced the departure of Nick "nitr0" Cannella from the organization last evening as the player is poised to return to the world of Counter-Strike.
Sources have told Dust2.us that the former Liquid IGL was looking to potentially return to M80 as a player to replace the outgoing Mario "malbsMd" Samayoa, but the move collapsed as the rifle continued to explore his options.
HLTV and Dust2.us also reported that NRG was one of the organizations that expressed an interest in the player, but nothing has materialized yet.
nitr0 is one of America's most accomplished In-Game Leaders. He led a dominant Liquid to the Intel Grand Slam in 2019, several deep tournament runs, and, most recently, a quarterfinal appearance at the 2023 BLAST.tv Paris Major.
The 28-year-old has continued to switch between VALORANT and Counter-Strike in recent years as he has juggled a growing family with the increased demands for travel as an American player in the top tier of Counter-Strike competition.
nitr0 is now no longer tied to M80 and is cleared to pursue a new path towards his potential next team.
