HexT leaves EG after 1.5 years

Official: Evil Geniuses part with HexT amidst interest from NRG

An exit from EG could be a change for HexT to start again with a new core.

Today, Evil Geniuses have announced the departure of Jadan "HexT" Postma from their ranks, seeing the Canadian exit the Seattle-based organization after being linked to NRG's return to Counter-Strike. The departure of HexT from the Evil Geniuses organization after 1.5 years comes as the beleaguered organization is reported to be exiting Counter-Strike and esports entirely by 2024 after numerous controversies, failures, and scandals across the company.

These failures, of course, extend to the world of Counter-Strike, where HexT and co. were never able to reached the expectation hoisted upon them by the storied Evil Geniuses name of old, despite multiple domestic and international compositions over the past two years.

During this time, HexT was a consistent face on Evil Geniuses' main roster despite being demoted back down to EG Black in mid-2023. While the 22-year-old never found his footing against top 30 opposition abroad, moments of brilliance from the youngster is likely a key factor in NRG's reported interest in the player, likely hoping a change of personnel and scenery can bring out the best in him.

With HexT out of the team, Evil Geniuses are now:

  • United States Timothy "autimatic" Ta

  • Canada Colby "Walco" Walsh

  • United States Jeorge "Jeorge" Endicott

  • United States Paytyn "junior" Johnson

  • United States Tommy "Axed" Ryan (Coach)

Also why do CS teams release players before selling instead of just waiting to announce the sale?
