$15,000 NCS Denver Major announced

With the first National Championship Series Major set to play out next weekend, the second Major stop has been revealed.

Ryan "Spooky" Barr, commissioner of N3rd Street Gamers' National Championship Series circuit, has announced a second NCS Major stop in Denver, Colorado, with the event set to run from July 19-21.

The three-day Major will utilize a dual-group format for the first day of the event, with the first phase of playoffs taking place on Saturday. The event will conclude on Sunday with the semifinals and grand finals.

The 32-team event boasts a $15,000 prize pool, and will play out at Localhost Denver, the same location as recent NCS Minor events. The winner will take home the lion's share of the prize pool, and will also earn points in the NCS leaderboard alongside free entry and travel support towards the NCS Grand Finals, which will take place at the end of the year in Denver.

The tournament will be the second NCS Major of the year, with GEXCon set to run the first next weekend from June 28-30. Although the GEXCon Major offers a slightly smaller prize pool of $10,000, the event's dates do not conflict with any other qualifiers or tournaments — the same cannot be said for the upcoming Denver Major, as the event is currently scheduled on top of both IEM Chicago and MDL Relegation.

A Twitter exchange between Mythic's Adam "Polen" Polen and Spooky somewhat alleviated concerns considering the latter issue, with the commissioner confirming that the ESEA Client would be installed on all of the tournament PCs, potentially allowing for players to play their matches from the Localhost venue.

There are currently seven teams pending registration to the event, and tickets will remain discounted by $15 until July 1st, with signups available on the event's Lobby.gg page.
