Version1 debuts VALORANT roster headlined by penny and vanity
Yesterday Version1, the organization that fields the Minnesota RØKKR in Call of Duty League, announced their foray into the world of VALORANT with a lineup of familiar faces from the North American CS:GO scene. The most noteworthy of the six names are Anthony "vanity" Malaspina and Erik "penny" Penny, who are both making their first stop with a team since switching games.
vanity and penny are fresh off of successful stints with Chaos and Triumph, respectively. Their teammates have found themselves bounced around the VALORANT scene quite a bit since leaving CS:GO. Jordan "Zellsis" Montemurro has played with a number of different stacks like Orgles5, while Loic "effys" Sauvageau and Keven "PLAYER1" Champagne were both a part of the French Canadians lineup that was originally signed by Gen.G this past May. effys was acquired by NRG on trial on November 11th, while PLAYER1 has been riding the Gen.G bench since December 26th.
The quintet of players played in the first Challenger event in the VALORANT Champions Tour as NeverDone and made it to the top 32, where they were eliminated by FaZe 2-1.
Version1 VALORANT are now:
- Anthony "vanity" Malaspina
- Erik "penny" Penny
- Jordan "Zellsis" Montemurro
- Loic "effys" Sauvageau
- Keven "PLAYER1" Champagne
- Ian "Immi" Harding (Coach)
The open qualifier for the second North American Challenger event within the VALORANT Champions Tour begins tomorrow.
