Lycus Empire returns to CS with new Advanced roster

After a year away from the game, Lycus have returned with the undefeated squad.

Orlando-based esports organization Lycus Empire have signed their first Counter-Strike 2 team, picking up an ESEA Advanced roster that currently boasts a 6-0 record in Season 50's regular season. The signing marks the organization's return to CS esports after previously hosting a short-lived roster that folded after Andrew "VulcaN" Dominguez was banned for account sharing back in ESEA Advanced Season 45.

Lycus Empire's return to the game comes as many organizations have taken the dive or returned to the semi-professional NA CS scene in recent months. Their new roster is also indicative of the changing landscape of the scene as Jake "j3nni" Jennison is the sole player on the team to make his debut on HLTV. Additionally, the whole lineup are relatively new to ESEA Advanced with this being the core's second season together in the division.

The team first qualified to Advanced after finishing ESEA Main Season 48 in 7th-8th place. In their first season of Advanced the team put up a 7-7 record to stay in the league while narrowly missing out on playoffs. This first experience has translated into a far more successful second outing, with the team currently at the top of division with a 6-0 record with their most notable win being against Wanted Goons.

Lycus Empire are now:

  • United States Christian "Pontic" Watts

  • Canada Alfonso "ajn" Nicolas

  • United States Sam "milo" Cash

  • United States Jake "j3nni" Jennison

  • Canada Daniil "Dan" Akerberg

Lycus Empire's next match in ESEA Advanced Season 50 is scheduled to be against ex-13 on August 7th.
