Nouns survive Bad News Capybaras scare in new roster's debut
Nouns debuted in ESL Challenger Season 49 with two narrow victories over Bad News Capybaras last night. The 19-year-old rifler Jaxon "Peeping" Cornwell was undoubtedly the MVP of these best-of-ones as he dropped 49 kills across Mirage and Dust2, and helped to push Nouns over the finish line.
The first best-of-one was played on Mirage and Bad News Capybaras pushed Nouns even though they lost the first half by 8-4 and an important anti-eco in the second half.
Despite Peeping being the one with the most kills on Nouns' T-side, Paytyn "junior" Johnson secured the map for Nouns with a 1v2 clutch to deny the retake on the B bombsite.
The teams headed to Dust2 for the second best-of-one and Nouns found their groove on the T-side after the match was tied 8-8.
Nouns won four rounds in a row off the back of consistent performances from Peeping and IGL Matthew "Cryptic" Whitmore leaving Bad News Capybara's economy in shambles, which helped them to close out the map.
Nouns will play against Alter Iron, who lost to NRG on their debut, tonight in ECL S49 NA at 09:00PM.
