LAG pick up Turkish coach ElPrincipe
LAG have announced the addition of Turkish coach Kadir "ElPrincipe" Sivri, seeing the former Eternal Fire Academy head coach take over the role from Alex "Takumi" Henning, who has returned to his original assistant coach role. The addition of the 27-year-old ElPrincipe sees LAG pivot to a European coach after previously employing Taylor "ioRascal" Hays in the role from April to August 2024.
ElPrincipe joins LAG after spending two years at the helm of Eternal Fire's academy team, where he helped to nurture a number of notable Turkish players including Eternal Fire's Ali "Wicadia" Haydar Yalçın, Sangal's Samet "jottAAA" Köklü, and Emrecan "EMSTAR" Çalışkan.
His experience working in the European subtop will likely gel well with LAG's overall vision of playing the game in a more European style, especially as ElPrincipe is set to link up with Turkish IGL, Deniz "Experative" Mutlum, on the roster.
ElPrincipe joins LAG at a pivotal time for the team, as LAG are set to compete in both the Perfect World Shanghai Major Americas RMR NA Closed Qualifier and the IEM Rio 2024 NA Closed Qualifier, with LAG needing all the help they get as the underdogs look to try and qualify for their first international LAN event.
With ElPrincipe, LAG are now:
-
Bodgan "ogwizard" Savula
-
Deniz "Experative" Mutlum
-
Nick "nicx" Lee
-
Wyatt "Weeza" Sahrmann
-
Raymon "rayxts" Mando
-
Kadir "ElPrincipe" Sivri (Coach)
-
Alex "Takumi" Henning (Assistant Coach)
While ElPrincipe will not be able to communicate with LAG during the Americas RMR NA Closed Qualifier, he will aim to get his team ready for their opening match against Legacy on August 26th.
