Valve ends Copenhagen sticker sale as Shanghai Major cycle approaches
We are just days away from the beginning of the next Major cycle, and it looks like Valve is already moving past the 2024 PGL Copenhagen Major cycle. Following last night's update, fans can no longer purchase stickers from the Danish Major after being on sale for the last 152 days.
Stickers have long been a source of income for organizations and players participating in the Major. However, as the Major was starting, it became a point of contention that Valve did not release the stickers until the tournament was already underway.
This was due to the number of players that were asked to re-do their signatures since they were too artistically designed.
Sticker sales for Copenhagen were a "return to the norm" after an abnormally long 2023 BLAST.tv Paris Major sale which saw teams earn millions from the sales.
Now, the sale appears to over with a whimper as the first matches for the upcoming 2024 Perfect World Shanghai Major begin tomorrow with the Arabia Open Qualifiers. The Americas will see their closed qualifier begin next week with M80, Complexity, and Liquid having all qualified directly to the RMR.
