Report: EG Black look towards Nouns player as chop replacement
Evil Geniuses announced today the departure of Connor "chop" Sullivan from their EG Black lineup. This moves marks the third shakeup to the Evil Geniuses academy side after signing Carpe Diem in June, first benching Anthony "CLASIA" Kearney before promoting Jadan "HexT" Postma to the main lineup. Dust2.us understands that Evil Geniuses have already closed in on a replacement for chop, scrimming with Nouns player Jeorge "jeorgesnorts" Endicott as recently as this week.
While Evil Geniuses and chop offered very little in the way of context for the move, a potential motivation could be recent underperformances by EG Black in ECL and other domestic leagues, where the team have struggled to distinguish themselves as a top domestic side. This is despite the team being under the watchful eye of IGL Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz and William "RUSH" Wierzba, two players who were ostensibly added in early August to help develop the team with their years of combined experience.
The decision to look towards jeorgesnorts as a potential player to reinvigorate EG Black comes after a blockbuster few months for the 19-year-old player. At the IEM Rio Major Americas RMR with Nouns, jeorgesnorts posted a stellar 1.21 rating over eight maps despite it being his first international LAN event. More broadly, jeorgesnorts has maintained a 1.13 rating over 208 maps this year, placing him among the upper echelon of semi-professional NA players.
jeorgesnorts has been notably absent from Nouns in their recent matches, with the team fielding Christopher "cJ" Jones in ESL Challenger League Season 43 in place of their star rifler.
Dust2.us reached out to jeorgesnorts, chop, and Evil Geniuses for context on the move, but none of the parties responded to a request for comment.
Should jeorgesnorts sign with EG Black, the roster would consist of:
-
Colby "Walco" Walsh
-
Jerric "wiz" Jiang
-
Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz
-
William "RUSH" Wierzba
-
Jeorge "jeorgesnorts" Endicott
-
Tommy "Axed" Ryan (Coach)
