Hiko announces free agency
Spencer "Hiko" Martin has announced his free agency on Twitter, revealing that his contract with Rogue came to an end today. The player is the only member of the now-defunct Rogue lineup that has yet to find a new team.
Hiko has been on the sidelines since the Rogue organization announced that they would be pulling out of CS:GO, leaving him, not for the first time in his career, without a team and in a poor position to rebuild. His former teammates, Daniel "vice" Kim and Hunter "SicK" Mims, found homes on Cloud9 and compLexity, respectively, just prior to the dissolution of the roster, while the Danish duo of Mathias "MSL" Lauridsen and Nikolaj "niko" Kristensen were already bound for spots on OpTic.
The last time Hiko found himself teamless was following his removal from Liquid in February 2017, with the player briefly standing in for OpTic before spending nearly six months as a free agent. He was signed to Rogue in July 2017, although the team faced changes almost immediately as Matthew "WARDELL" Yu remained contracted to Ghost and returned to the organization. Hiko went into further detail regarding this period in a recent video interview with Richard Lewis.
The same interview also saw Hiko discuss the possibility of doing analytical and broadcast talent work at events, with the player revealing that he would likely move more in that direction if he did not receive any suitable offers in the coming months. Organizations and interested parties can reach him via email or on Twitter.
