Davenport defibrillates CSGO roster with some short term Voltage
After a year and a half on Davenport University's roster, Joseph "slomotion" Derby has stepped down from the squad, seeing Logan "Voltage" Long fill the void until the end of the season.
The news comes after slomotion allegedly slept through the open qualifier for the most recent Mythic Cup. This forced the squad to field coach Colin "koi" Thor as a substitute, culminating in the team falling at the first hurdle after a 16-13 loss to PNEUMA.
Before his departure, slomotion had been on the Panther's books for the best part of eighteen months. Whilst a part of the team, the side managed to be crowned champions of ESEA Main Season 38 as well as netting themselves a first place finish in the Liquid x IMC College Clash. More recently, the collegiate roster narrowly missed out on participating in ESEA Premier Season 39 Relegation after securing a 9th-12th showing during their debut in ESEA Advanced.
Voltage's recruitment sees him continue his time in a varsity roster after previously playing the past four seasons with Michigan Tech Huskies. Before leaving midway through last season, Voltage helped the side reach their peak with a third round exit in ESEA Main Season 38 playoffs.
Prior to this, Voltage is best known for his time in Chaos and Triumph in early 2020. Whilst on Triumph's ranks, the 21-year-old posted a solid 1.11 rating across 71 maps, but, despite his previous strong showings, Voltage's addition is only temporary, with the team set to field a Davenport University student ahead of the start of next season.
With the changes, Davenport University are now:
-
Spencer "Pugg" Moore
-
Collin "CoJoMo" Moren
-
Brandon "BeB0" Miller
-
Tommy "corn" Eckhart
-
Logan "Voltage" Long (Stand-in)
-
Bret "Agent" Kepler (Substitute)
-
Colin "koi" Thor (Coach)
Davenport University are currently competing in ESEA Advanced Season 40 where they boast a 4-2 record with their next matchup set to be tomorrow at 10:00PM against Snakes Den.
