G2 survive another test, sets field for BLAST Bounty Season 1 LAN final

It took a couple of close calls and slow starts, but G2 have advanced to the LAN portion of BLAST Bounty Season 1 in their first event with Nikita "HeavyGod" Martynenko instead of Nikola "NiKo" Kovač.

G2 were in deep trouble early against BIG, trailing 11-1 on Ancient after BIG's T-side. They did manage to secure some rounds before BIG eventually took map one, and G2 fared far better in the second and third maps. HeavyGod had his best showing on G2 so far in the decisive map on Dust 2: 22 kills against only five deaths, and a 2.01 HLTV player rating.

The trio of HeavyGod, Mario "malbsMd" Samayoa, Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov did the heavy lifting for G2, pushing the team into the LAN finals next week in Copenhagen.

The full list of eight teams that advanced past the BLAST Bounty Season 1 closed qualifier is:

The BLAST Bounty Season 1 LAN finals will utilize the same format as the closed qualifier: a single-elimination bracket where the low seed teams select their opponents.
