Fragicago 2024 Day One Live Blog

The long-awaited day is here as Fragicago 2024 is set to start in short order with the 32 teams in attendance getting ready for their staggered start times. With many of NA's top domestic teams in attendance, Fragicago is sure to be exciting, especially with $10,000 on the line.

As always, Dust2.us' Jeffrey "Mnmzzz" Moore is here to bring you all the action from the from the Scrims Esports Center in Lisle, Illinois, so be sure to follow our live blog throughout the event.

02:58AM - End of Day One, 8 Teams Through to Playoffs

Day one of Fragicago 2024 has come to a close, with eight teams earning spots in playoffs after topping their groups. These teams were largely the favorites with many dominating in their path to the playoffs bracket.

With day one complete the eight advancing teams are:

02:56AM - Nouns lock in playoffs

Nouns have secured playoffs by winning their late-night series against WICKED 2-0, winning the final map, Nuke, 13-5. They join timbermen in having made playoffs by winning one series due to having bye's in their groups.
02:31AM - timbermen advance to playoffs

timbermen have bested Unjustified 13-4 on Nuke, securing the 2-0 victory and earning a quick entry into playoffs.

01:53AM - Nouns 1-0 WICKED

Nouns have unsurprisingly taken the lead in their series against WICKED, taking Ancient 13-6.

01:53AM - timbermen 1-0 Unjustified

timbermen have taken the first map after a close opener on Mirage, with Wyatt "snav" Phillippi and co. taking the map 13-9.

12:46AM - Unjustified best super shy

The one-off Unjustified mix are set to face off against timbermen to end day one as they have bested super 2-0 in their opening series.

Unjustified's mix for this event consists of:

11:41PM - WICKED stomp Aether on map one

WICKED have secured map one against Aether, smacking the team 13-2 on Anubis to go up in the series.

11:33PM - Alter Iron make playoffs

Alter Iron, formerly known as HeadShot King, have qualified to playoffs after besting NuTorious 2-1 in a reverse sweep. Talen "Talen" M. and co. will now join a number of ECL teams in the top sixteen.

10:52PM - Take Flyte 2-0 moggers

With a 13-10 win in Anubis, Take Flyte have taken the series 2-0 and are now through to playoffs, joining the other ECL teams already there.

10:08PM - Take Flyte up a map versus moggers

Take Flyte have claimed Anubis 13-8 versus moggers and are now one round away from making playoffs.

10:08PM - Limitless lock in playoffs spot

Limitless have locked in their spot in playoffs with a 2-0 win over Amped Red, besting the squad 13-4 on Anubis and 13-5 on Nuke.

09:45PM - Limitless advance on the path to playoffs

Limitless are currently up a map against Amped Red and boast a 7-0 scoreline against the team on Nuke. The team look confident to make their way into playoffs unless Amped Red rally quickly to stop them on Nuke.

08:59PM - NuTorious 2-1 Phase3

NuTorious completed their comeback win against Phase3 win, besting the team 13-9 on Dust2 to advance to the upper portion of Group F.

08:32PM - NuTorious v. Phase3 goes to a third map

The on-stream match between NuTorious and Phase3 has gone the distance, with the series in the middle of its third map, Dust2, where NuTorious are currently up 9-8.

07:16PM - Limitless claim blowout in opening match

Limitless have topped their opening match in Group E in an utterly dominant fashion, smashing Fueled by Hate with a 13-2 win on Inferno and a 13-1 win on Ancient. They now await the winner of Victory Royale vs. Amped Red in the Winners Match,

06:27PM - Round 2 returns with returned stream

Round two has kicked off with the stream back in full swing now that a few internet issues have been resolved, so be sure to check out the action as NuTorious is taking on Phase3 on stream.

05:20PM - LAG lock in playoffs

LAG, of of the favorites for the tournament, have locked in a playoffs berth with a 2-0 win over cxzi's Wanted goons mixteam. The squad join BHOP as the second squad to make their way into the playoffs.

04:56PM - BHOP top Group H

BHOP are the first team to lock in playoffs after taking down InControl 13-9 on Ancient and 13-7 on Anubis. The mixteam built around FLUFFY AIMERS IGL, Brett "brett" Rhein, are currently 4-0 in maps for the tournament after taking down Kaos 2-0 earlier in the day.

04:30PM - Akimbo tie up the series

After dropping Inferno to Amped with a 13-7 scoreline, Akimbo have answered back with a 13-7 win of their own on Ancient. The Mongolian squad aim to now close the series out in a third map to top their group to retain their status as the favorites in Group G.

04:25PM - Amped and LAG go up in their series

Amped and LAG have managed to secure a one-map lead against Akimbo and Wanted Goons, respectively, as they aim to lock in a playoff spot via the winners match.

03:18PM - LAG versus Wanted Goons heads to Ancient

A third winners match is now underway, seeing LAG take on the Wanted Goons mix for the top spot in Group C.

03:18PM - Amped versus Akimbo begins

Two ESEA Advanced squads are also now in battle as well, with Amped currently in the lead on Inferno.

03:15PM - InControl face off against BHOP for playoffs

InControl have kicked off their winners match match against BHOP in Group H, with the winning team heading into playoffs.

03:00PM - More results come in

Two more opening matches have concluded, with Amped besting QuestionMark 2-0 and BHOP taking down Kaos 2-0 as well.

02:24PM - Akimbo, Wanted Goons, InControl score wins

Three teams have claimed wins to start the day, with InControl besting Glizzy Globbers 2-0, Akimbo taking down Milanese Money Management 2-0, and Wanted Goons finally finishing their on-stream match with a 2-1 over Kunai.

01:55PM - We're so back

Wanted Goons versus Kunai is back in action, with all of the tech issues being resolved.

01:32PM - Main stream delayed

Unfortunately a tech issue with the servers has caused a tech pause for Wanted Goons versus Kunai. The FRAG team are switching to a new server and hope to be back on soon.

01:23PM - More action!

InControl are also now live against Glizzy Gobblers, with the two teams set to play Anubis, Nuke, and Mirage.

01:13PM - Third series goes live

Amped vs. QuestionMark has gone live as well, with the series set to be played on Ancient, Inferno, and Anubis.

12:58PM - More matches start

Some server issues have been resolved, allowing the day to start in earnest. Wanted Goons are now in action against Milanese Money Management while Kunai v. Wanted Goons map three is set o start shortly.

12:47PM - Wanted Goons strike back

Wanted Goons have answered back with a 13-7 win on Ancient, forcing the series versus Kunai onto a third map, with Inferno set to start shortly.

12:12PM - Kuani start up against Wanted Goons

Kuani have started their opening series against the Wanted Goons mix up a map after winning Mirage 13-10. Wanted Goons are attending Fragicago with an interesting mix with two loca ringers in the form of Danny "cxzi" Strzelczyk and Tommy "Axed" Ryan.

10:10AM - Let’s Get Ready to Rumble!

Day one of Fragicago 2024 is set to start in short order, with matches scheduled to start between 10:30AM and 11:00AM. Groups G, H, and C will be the first to head into action today, with Akimbo, InControl, LAG, and Wanted Goons being the top teams in this first time slot.
