HLTV introduces live-updating Valve Ranking

More rankings, more fun.

Valve team ranking was first introduced in 2022 and has been primarily used within the Major cycles to help determine invites and seeding, but now that is all changing as from 2025 on, the rankings will be used to determine invites to some of the game's biggest events across the globe.

Valve periodically releases these rankings on its own GitHub page. These updates have been confusing for fans, as many are not notified of the weekly updates, the formula behind the ranking, or where exactly to find them.

HLTV has recognized the importance of these rankings and is now incorporating them into the traditional HLTV Ranking page. Fans will now have a one-stop shop to recognize, see, and take in the live-updated rankings after every match.

Additionally, fans can now easily see historical rankings on a daily basis. The rankings will be sorted by region and by the world.

The rankings incorporation is still in its beta phase as HLTV needs to account for potential changes in the Valve ranking formula, potential bugs, and differences.
