Wanted Goons hambooga: "I'm extremely happy with the way I performed"
Wanted Goons was the toast of the town on day two of Fragadelphia CS/DO, besting NuTorious in an incredibly exciting match in front of a packed crowd. A key to their success was very strong performances from rookie Ben "hambooga", leading to Jeffrey "Mnmzzz" Moore sitting down with the player to learn more about his run at Fragadelphia, his rise through ESEA Advanced, and his experiences on Wanted Goons, among other topics.
Please note that the full interview can be found below on YouTube, while the transcript has some key snippets from their conversation.
That was a pretty close match against Xiaoma, how are you feeling about out of it?
I'm still feeling pretty confident even though we lost in the first round of playoffs. For me personally, being a rookie and performing the way I did, I'm extremely happy with the way I performed.
We saw some special performances from you against NuTorious last night. What was it like playing in that full room with all of the fans behind NuTorious?
Honestly it didn't bother me that much. I know they were trying to get into my head, but seeing all those guys giggling after saying something to me just made me have more fun. I definitely thrive under pressure and I grew up playing in my living room so loud noises around [is normal].
How do you feel about your experience here as it is only your second LAN?
The venue was amazing and honestly the amount of connections I made it just helps you realize how closely knit this community is, and how many great people there are.
Wanted Goons were recently in Advanced playoffs, with it being your first season, how do you feel about the run there?
I'm very happy with the way we preformed this season, especially looking at how Wanted Goons performed last season, definitely took a step up. Having experienced players like AtomiK and SolGoat being here to teach me has completely accelerated me this season. I started off struggling this season but I feel like a completely new player.
The team had some roster troubles towards the end of playoffs, do you think the team will do better with a full five?
Yeah absolutely, we're still a brand new roster and there's a lot of things we want to do still. We haven't even completed our map pool because we assembled the roster right before the season started. We barely had any time to practice in the off-season.
