rbn on making ESL Impact S5 Finals: "We definitely have what it takes"
It has been a vibrant weekend in Philadelphia as multiple ESL Impact teams made the effort to come and compete against some of the best semi-pro teams in North America. FlyQuest RED, Limitless, Shimmer, and Karma all came out to Fragadelphia and made waves, with Dust2.us getting the opportunity to talk to some of the Impact players there.
One of the players that Dust2.us got the chance to speak to was Limitless Angles' IGL Robin "rbn" Bondari. The Impact player has been part of the same core since September, playing on Totsugeki, Tsunami, Lotus, and now Limitless. Jeffrey "Mnmzzz" Moore spoke with the Limitless rifler to talk about the event, missing out on Kiki "PiggyKiki" Long who could not ultimately come, and what joining Limitless was like.
Please note that the full interview can be found below on YouTube, while the transcript has some key snippets from their conversation.
It was a three-mapper for the team, how do you feel like you did overall?
It started out slow, not the first map that we wanted, but the second and third were more our style. We got to get our map pool more in order so we were fine playing Mirage or Vertigo, just because they are not our best right now, so we want to tune them up before the rest of ESL Impact.
A big thing to consider here is that you don't have PiggyKiki and you are playing with your manager Ink. How big of an impact is this change?
It's quite a sizeable one. She brings a lot to the roster, I really think Ink filled the spot pretty well, I think he is pulling his weight. He is doing mainly a lot of the things PiggyKiki does just helping with my calls. Having another view, outside of the team, since he is not there for all of my calls, it helps a lot.
Coming into this LAN you just signed with Limitless. How did you guys end up signing with Limitless and becoming their Impact squad?
Limitless approached us and asked if we were renewing our contracts with Tsunami and we said that we were. They stuck around, they showed a lot of interest in us as well. Then once the merger happened with Tsunami and Detonate, we explored other options and Limitless was there for us. They were super helpful and the community around them is so helpful and the people there are willing to give their thoughts, it helped me a lot as well.
