M80 set to field dephh in ECL debut tomorrow
M80 are set to make their ESL Challenger League Season 47 debut tomorrow night against Mythic, and with it the team's coach, Rory "dephh" Jackson will continue to act as the team's de-facto stand-in for IGL Marcus "maNkz" Kjeldsen. maNkz has been out of M80's starting lineup since January 28th, taking an indefinite break due to struggles with mental health.
maNkz's break from competition has already seen dephh have to stand-in for the team during IEM Katowice, with the squad struggling to find results with former CS:GO pro. It will also notably mean the squad will be without their IGL for the PGL Major Copenhagen Americas RMR, greatly diminishing their chances to make CS2's first Major.
The decision to field dephh in ECL comes as the team are looking to give the Brit as many reps as possible ahead of the Americas RMR, M80 VP of Esports Donald "SyykoNT" Muir told Dust2.us. While the team would, in all likelihood, be able to find a domestic ringer for ECL, the organization has prioritized getting the squad as ready as possible for the Americas RMR, which is set to start next week.
As such, M80 will face Mythic tomorrow night with:
-
Michael "Swisher" Schmid
-
Ethan "reck" Serrano
-
Mario "malbsMd" Samayoa
-
Fritz "slaxz-" Dietrich
-
Rory "dephh" Jackson (Stand-in)
M80 will face Mythic tomorrow at 09:00PM.
