FaZe enter VALORANT with jasonR; Marved & dephh to play in VALORANT Showdown
Former OpTic and Splyce player Jason "jasonR" Ruchelski has joined FaZe's VALORANT roster, along with former Overwatch League player Corey "corey" Nigra.
The signing of jasonR comes as a surprise as he is yet to compete in a tournament in the recently released game, although he has frequently played on stream. jasonR was last seen playing professional CS:GO in mid-2017 on OpTic where he played was a stand-in following Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz's exit from the team.
During his four-year-long CS:GO career, jasonR's marquee achievement was a third place finish at the inaugural cs_summit, with OpTic notably besting Cloud9 and Liquid before falling to Gambit in the lower bracket final. He also attended MLG Columbus 2016 with Splyce, though the squad were eliminated in last place following one-sided losses to Fnatic and FaZe.
His teammate, corey, was a professional Overwatch League player, notably winning the 2019 Overwatch World Cup with the United States team.
With these additions, FaZe's VALORANT roster currently consists of:
- Jason "jasonR" Ruchelski
- Corey "corey" Nigra
FaZe are set to make their VALORANT debut tomorrow in Nerd Street Gamers' VALORANT Showdown, although notably without jasonR. However, does feature a pair of former CS:GO players in the form of Jimmy "Marved" Nguyen and Rory "dephh" Jackson.
