Former OpTic, CLG star retires from esports
Former Counter-Strike and later VALORANT professional player James "hazed" Cobb announced his retirement from competitive play in a career that spanned several teams in multiple titles. hazed played for organizations like Counter Logic Gaming, OpTic, NRG, and TSM throughout his years in competition.
After playing from 2014 through the end of 2017 with CLG and OpTic, hazed turned towards streaming while still remaining active in the Counter-Strike community. After OpTic, hazed played on the stream team of Mythic alongside Erik "fl0m" Flom. Despite this switch, hazed remained fiercely competitive, which showed in a small controversy while playing on the stream team in 2019.
Following the release of VALORANT, the now 34-year-old gamer switched to the new title where he was almost immediately signed by TSM, alongside fellow former Counter-Strike pros, Matthew "WARDELL" Yu and Yassine "Subroza" Taoufik who he was teammates with on a short-lived "Orgless" project that was also almost signed by the organization.
hazed competed for the last few years in VALORANT with TSM and NRG, but has now since hung it all up as he enters the next stage of his life. During his time in CS:GO, hazed won CEVO Season 6, Northern Arena 2015, and even finished in the top eight of the 2016 MLG Columbus Major with CLG.
