FlyQuest RED win Super Girl Gamer Pro

This last weekend, eight Counter-Strike 2 women's teams battled for the $5,000 prize pool of Super Girl Gamer Pro. FlyQuest RED came out on top after finishing the group stage in second place but managing to beat the opposition during the playoffs.

Tsunami Sirens and Karma finished atop Group 1 and 2, respectively, while FlyQuest RED and EG Gold finished the group stage in second.

The group stage had a GSL BO1 format with two groups of four teams. The competition saw Tsunami Sirens and FlyQuest RED fight for first place as Category 5 and awesome were left behind in Group 1. In Group 2, it was Cherry Bombs and WG Bandits as the ones left in the dust by Karma and EG Gold.

The playoffs were a single-elimination bracket with BO3 matches. The bracket set FlyQuest RED against Karma and Tsunami Sirens against EG Gold. RED easily beat Karma in the first map 13-3 and needed overtime to snatch the second one, 16-14. Tsunami Sirens copied the path of destruction from RED in the first map, beating EG Gold 13-5 and 13-8 in the second map.

The grand final between FlyQuest RED and Tsunami Sirens would be a three-map affair after Sirens beat RED on Overpass 13-9. FlyQuest was able to tie the series with a 13-6 Inferno. The Mirage decider was a bit anti-climatic as FlyQuest RED beat Tsunami Sirens 13-1 to take home $2,500.
