IEM returns to Dallas for 2024
As part of a flurry of announcements by ESL today, the TO has confirmed that IEM Dallas will be returning in 2024 for its third year, seeing top-tier Counter-Strike return to the Lone Star State. As with previous years, the tournament will be held at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center alongside DreamHack Dallas, with the event sent to run from May 27th to June 2nd.
The previous iteration of IEM Dallas in 2023, saw ENCE take home the trophy after a dominant showing against MOUZ in the finals. On the NA front, it was an underwhelming event as the quartet of Liquid, EG, Complexity, and Nouns failed to secure a single spot in playoffs, while the sole international win came over the Aussies of Grayhound. Since then, the NA scene has seen a number of huge changes, with Nick "nitr0" Cannella retiring, Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski moving to Complexity, and Liquid adopting an EU-majority roster.
Despite NA performing poorly, there were a number of great NA moments, with the Team USA vs. The Universe in particular being special as it saw Tyler "Skadoodle" Latham and Joshua "JDM" Marzano take to the stage in a CS2 showmatch.
