Report: JACKZ no longer on the cards for EG
Ryan Friend contributed to this report.
The talks between Audric "JACKZ" Jug and the Seattle-based organization have died out, according to sources close to Dust2.us and 1pv.fr. This is the second player that has been reportedly in talks with EG but no agreement was reached. Yesterday we reported that the deal with Aleksandr "zorte" Zagodyrenko had fallen through, while talks with Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski have taken a step back.
As another European doesn't join the squad, Evil Geniuses' majorly-European squad plans might not come to fruition, at least for the start of the season. With zorte, and JACKZ not signing with EG, and the deal with EliGE hanging on by a thread, only Denis "electroNic" Sharipov remains from the initial group of players that were reported to have been talking with EG. The electroNic deal is still a mystery, with no information coming out regarding the status of the negotiations with the non-representing Russian player.
The BLAST Premier roster lock for the Fall Groups stage is today and it seems very unlikely that Evil Geniuses will debut their rumored European core at the start of second-half of 2023, but it also remains to be seen who will lineup for the competition that starts on July 13th, in Copenhagen.
