Hiko stated that streaming may be in the cards with the release of CS2

Hiko discusses potential CS return

Largely absent since his transition to VALORANT, CS2 has made Hiko reconsider.

Earlier today, a clip from Spencer "Hiko" Martin's Twitch stream spread like wildfire, as the former Counter-Strike pro stated that he would be "[making] a comeback to CS when CS2 comes out". Following the popularity of the clip, Hiko went on to clarify that his comment was in regards to streaming the game, and that VALORANT would remain his game of choice for professional play.

In addition to his comment regarding a potential comeback to streaming Counter-Strike, Hiko also discussed how he particularly missed the community aspect of Counter-Strike, highlighting that the higher average age of players of the game appealed to him more than the primarily younger VALORANT community. In his later clarification, Hiko stated that both games suffer from issues in the community to some degree, but that this is a problem irrespective of game title.

Hiko is undoubtedly one of the most prominent North American Counter-Strike players to have retired from the game, with a lengthy career spanning nearly seven years across a number of different organizations, including Complexity, Cloud9, Liquid, and Rogue. Hiko assisted in a number of North American CS' early successes, including Major semifinal appearances at DreamHack Winter 2013 and MLG Columbus 2016, as well as the region's first Major final at ESL One Cologne 2016.

Fans of North American Counter-Strike will now have another reason to anticipate the release of CS2, as Hiko's return to streaming Counter-Strike would be a welcome one considering his lasting impact on the region and the scene as a whole.
