Ghost release freakazoid and neptune; set to step back from CS:GO
Following last night's Tweet by Kenneth "koosta" Suen that he was no longer contractually tied to Ghost, and the later followup responses by Josh "steel" Nissan and coach James "JamezIRL" Macaulay that they had also entered free agency, Ghost have now also released Jason "neptune" Tran and Ryan "freakazoid" Abadir.
Although the team currently sits at #20 on HLTV's world rankings, the squad have struggled in recent times to find consistent results with the team's only notable finish this year being a 3rd-4th finish at iBUYPOWER Masters IV.
For the time being, although Ghost have released the majority of the team, WARDELL will remain tied to the organization as he signed a multi-year contract extension with the team back in November 2018.
Now teamless, it looks as if Ghost are intending on exiting CS:GO outright, ending their two years in the game, according to a tweet by Ghost CEO Matt Dillon:
Ghost's roster was:
- Matthew "WARDELL" Yu
- Joshua "steel" Nissan
- Kenneth "koosta" Suen
- Jason "neptune" Tran
- Ryan "freakazoid" Abadir
- James "JamezIRL" Macaulay (Coach)
In a statement given to HLTV, steel mentioned that the lineup does not intend to stick together, with the quartet of free agents going their separate ways. As for Phong "bee-1os-" Nguyên, the team's long-time manager hinted in a Tweet that he will no longer be working with Ghost, however at this time he nor Ghost have responded to requests for comment.
