Legacy ask TOs to bar coldzera during contract conflict
In an unexpected turn of events, Marcelo "coldzera" David is now the focus of a contract dispute between the player, his former organization, and the new team he has joined. The dispute came to light when Legacy, formerly 00 Nation's Brazilian operations arm, asked tournament operators to bar the player from participating, as the organization claims the contract is valid through the end of 2024 and that the player is not free to join other organizations.
Legacy did not initially comment when coldzera announced his "exit" from the organization a few weeks ago. When the player was then formally announced by RED Canids on April 25th, the organization felt a need to respond. coldzera had been warned by Legacy that all official contracts and negotiations had to be carried out by the organization.
According to Dust2 Brasil, RED Canids had told Legacy they were not interested in acquiring any of Legacy's players in response to rumors tying the legendary player and the organization together.
On April 24th, Legacy once again reminded RED Canids that coldzera had a valid contract with them. RED Canids announced the player the following day.
Legacy claim that Valve is aware of the situation and at the same time, are looking to resolve the issue in United States court. Finally, Legacy will continue to register coldzera as the sixth player for all upcoming tournaments.
As for coldzera, the player sent a memo to tournament organizers, Valve, and Dust2 Brasil to state that he no longer had a relationship with Legacy. The memo did not mention RED Canids and did not have a signature from Legacy.
