FACEIT bans player after playing 78 pugs for three days straight
Yesterday afternoon, Bradley "Slugy" Kohler posted that he had been temporarily banned from FACEIT after playing 78 games for three days straight. The ban message simply read, "cs2 - Go To Sleep".
Gaming for this long has historically led to individuals dying due to sleep exhaustion, sudden medical issues brought on by lack of rest, which include pulmonary embolisms, cerebral hemorrhages, or fatal cardiac arrhythmia. For those with pre-existing health conditions, the ramifications of such a marathon could be much more severe.
In reviewing the records for Slugy, his first game of the marathon began on Sunday, January 14th, at approximately 09:51PM. Following this first game on Ancient, which was a loss, Slugy would essentially go on to play 77 games without stopping.
His last game, presumably due to the ban, was at 11:07AM, making it more than 62 hours since he first began playing his marathon session.
Going without sleep for this extended period of time can be extremely detrimental to one's health, especially considering that Slugy was also not physically active other than playing Counter-Strike. For now, it's for the best that Slugy is taking a break from the game and hopefully recovering after this episode.
